Ingleton is a Saxon Village dating from the 5th century and is located on the edge of the Durham Dales between the historic market towns of Darlington and Barnard Castle. Historically, the village held an annual fayre for it residence and surrounding farmsteads, but this practice died out during the Great War years. In 2004 the Village Fayre and Classic Car Show was revived by the Ingleton & District Community Association, who have been organising and running the fayre for the last 15 years. It is a traditional community event which welcomes visitors to join residents for a fabulous family day of fun and community activities. There’s music, classic fayre games, a dog show, kids races, ice-creams, cream teas, bouncy castles and so much more to enjoy. We hope you will join us in our 15th year and look forward to meeting you.
There is free parking available on the fayre field. This includes some spaces which are reserved for disabled parking.
The entrance to the fayre field is a single lane, so traffic control measures will be in affect throughout the day. Please be patient and follow directions.
Visitors are asked to be considerate of residents and to park responsibly. Please do not park across driveways or disturb the grass verges.
The Fayre is accessible to wheelchairs and there are disabled toilets available at the Village Hall.
If you would like to discuss specific requirements please feel free to contact the organisers.
This year we have 20 commercial spaces available for local retailers, artists and craft specialists to promote and sell their wares. We also have space for advertising, should you wish to promote your business at the fayre. This year we are requesting a small deposit to secure your pitch, and a donation of your choosing. Last year we attracted well over 2000 visitors, so we’re very confident that you will have a profitable day.
